It's a sad day when an immigrant has to remind many born-and-bred Americans to defend the Constitution. All they have to do is vote in November. Is that too much to ask?

Satire: Max's Proposed Constitutional Amendment
IN NORTH CAROLINA, July 24, 2026.
The unanimous Declaration of ONE PATRIOT in the United States of America,
When in the Course of political events, it becomes necessary for one candidate to dissolve the political bands which have connected WE THE PEOPLE with one-another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the efforts of a candidate requires that he should declare the causes which impel him to propose a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that the SLEEPING GIANT, though endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, among these Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, slumbers, waiting for a nightmare to unfold.
To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
Max, who honors and cherishes his American citizenship, has long warned Americans of the creeping threat of socialism and Sharia Law in America.
Through his TEA Party leadership and political activism since 2009, he has spoken of the harm socialism, and Sharia law will bring to the very foundation of this great nation.
Time and again, he has urged vigilance, engagement, and defense of our republic.
Yet like a sleeping giant, much of the electorate has remained still.
Warnings have gone unheard. Participation has been replaced with inaction.
Many believe certain districts such, as NC-04 are lost causes, because they favor the Democrats.
Max rejects this belief. He declares that no part of America is a lost cause.
Every square-inch of America is worth fighting for.
Every community deserves defense.
Against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Max has called for action. Simple, meaningful action.
- Door-knocking.
- Social media outreach.
- Campaign donations.
- Get-Out-The-Vote efforts.
These calls have been made with humility.
They have been made with sincerity.
Yet too often, they are met with silence. With hesitation. With inaction.
A people who remain indifferent, risk surrendering their voice.
And in time, their future.
When we fail to defend the Republic together, we should not be surprised when the Republic's future is decided without us.
Therefore, Max, Candidate for Congress in North Carolina’s Fourth District, appealing to the judgment of the American people, and to the Supreme Judge of the world, does solemnly present this proposed Constitutional Amendment:
That the right of the people to COMPLAIN about the socialist direction of our great nation shall be suspended for any citizen:
- Unwilling to act.
- Unwilling to volunteer.
- Unwilling to contribute.
- Unwilling to encourage others to exercise their right to vote.
This Amendment is satirical. But the warning is not.
Freedom is not self-sustaining.
- It requires participation.
- It requires vigilance.
- It requires sacrifice.
Without engagement, even the strongest republic can falter.
With firm reliance on Divine Providence, Max pledges his time, effort and sacred honor to defend the Constitution - against all enemies foreign & domestic.
